Malouf's Go Girl Ring Inspires Women Nationwide
| ||
The
GO GIRL RING can be given to women coping with illness, women graduating,
getting married, having babies, women supporting each other during life's
challenges, runners & walkers, movers & shakers and above all, survivors.
I created the Go Girl ring as a special reminder for women to believe in themselves. The GO GIRL ring is a celebration of life's happy times: first job, promotion, graduation, marriage or new baby. When loss or illness occurs, the GO GIRL ring reminds us to hang in there, take charge, speak up and remind ourselves that we are our own best support system. So give yourself a hug and show life that you can GO GIRL! --dian malouf
The GO GIRL RING and all endearings, are tailored in the finest sterling and in the best of Dian Malouf's style. A portion of the sale of all GO GIRL RINGS will benefit the SUSAN G. KOMEN BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION. Dian Malouf jewelry is proud to announce we have donated over $15,000 to the SGK Breast Cancer Foundation from the sale of the Go Girl Ring Dear Dian, About two years ago, I wrote an email to you detailing the life of my precious friend Patricia Cahill. She battled breast cancer for about 15 months. I bought a Go Girl ring for her and myself, and by the time she passed away in February of 2000 there were 20 or so of us who were Patricia's Go Girls. She was buried with her ring. Then in November of 2002 my dearest friend and college roommate, Brenda Collins Onstead, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Brenda had been one of Patricia's Go Girls and already had a ring, so she pulled it out. Again, I emailed all of her friends around the country and asked them to be Brenda's Go Girls. There were 20 or more of us wearing the ring for Brenda. The end of her story is good. The cancer was caught early and two years later, her checkups are clear. Now we are in another battle. Another dear college friend, Lana Thrailkill Mason, is battling advanced lung cancer in Memphis, TN. She was one of Brenda's Go Girls and has a ring. I have once again sent out the call that Lana needs Go Girls. I am the webmistress of Lana's website. If you would like to read her story, please go to this site. Lana is the life of the party wherever she goes - as you will see when you look at the pictures in her picture album. I have posted your Go Girl order information on Lana's site so our friends all over America can be connected as we root for her to beat this lung cancer.
Again, I say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for giving us a symbol of hope and a way of connecting though we are miles apart. I am going to Memphis next weekend, along with one of my childhood friends who lives in Atlanta, to spend some time with Lana. We will all have our Go Girl rings on.
Best Regards, Paula
